For nearly 7 years, I’ve called Baja home. As a bilingual dual citizen, it’s where I feel most grounded. Great food, even better people, and unlike Yuma, AZ...no blistering heat.
But beyond lifestyle, it gave me something more valuable: perspective.
Living here has deepened my understanding of:
The nuances of foreign currency economics
Cross-border legal & financial operations
International tax systems and compliance
Business Spanish & cultural drivers of motivation
Most importantly, it gave me the freedom to be selective in my career, to choose roles that challenge me and align with my growth in finance and accounting.
If your business touches the border, go meet the people. Share a meal. Ask curious questions. The insight you gain can’t be captured in a spreadsheet or in a pitch deck.
